Introduction
Welcome to Math 211: Calculus-1. The purpose of this letter is to provide you an overview of the course.
This class will be conducted via Canvas/Zoom during the scheduled times. We will have lectures, discussions, and class-works during these mandatory synchronous meetings. You must attend the first class meeting otherwise, you will be dropped unless I receive a notification in advance with a valid reason.
No lecture recording will be available. However, the lecture handouts, class notes, and solutions to the assignments will be posted on Canvas. In addition, you can watch videos related to each topic in WebAssign. If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact me through emails. Your emails will be answered within 24 hours excluding the weekends and holidays. There will be no office hours during this summer session.

What to Expect in this Course
WebAssign
You are required to purchase the WebAssign student access code. WebAssign includes the course eBook and online homework. There are a few options available to purchase the access code. You can purchase it at the COC Bookstore or you can purchase it from Cengage website () on the first day of the semester when you login to Canvas. Through Canvas, you will be able to access the online quizzes and other instructional tools.

Types of Assessments
In this class, you will have a homework assignment on each section, numerous class-work assignments, three-chapter tests, and a comprehensive final exam. Your homework assignments will be done and submitted through WebAssign. Class-works, chapter tests, and the final exam will be taken during the scheduled class-time and your work will be submitted through Canvas. During the exams, you will be asked to have your webcams on and pointed directly to the area where you are taking your exam. You will be asked to take an oral assessment if there is no webcam provided.
